  8.   I would like to welcome you to this wonderful Computer Ministry
  9.   of Calvary Chapel.  The Calvary Chapel Network is designed to
  10.   connect Calvary Chapel and affiliate churches for fellowship
  11.   and information exchange as well as provide Calvary Chapel
  12.   Mission and ministry needs to the world.  Although this is a
  13.   ministry of Calvary Chapel, all Christians/non-Christians are
  14.   encouraged to fellowship In-The-Love-Of-Christ here on CalvaryNet.
  15.   If you do not know Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, it is
  16.   our hope and prayer that after seeing the Love of Christ through
  17.   the Christians on CalvaryNet, and seeing The Word of God presented,
  18.   that you will ask Jesus to come into your life.. into your heart...
  19.   and receive the promise of eternal life.

  21.   CalvaryNet is monitored regarding brother to brother relations as
  22.   well as content, intent, and scriptural reference of the messages
  23.   posted.  There are a few guidelines that outline expected behaviors
  24.   of the users here on CalvaryNet, and such should have been made
  25.   available to you for reading prior to your access on CalvaryNet.
  26.   This may have been in the form of a BBS Bulletin, or an
  27.   introductory screen before accessing the actual message base
  28.   {conferences}.  Most of the guidelines that will affect the general
  29.   user are located in the CCPOLICY.TXT file, but there are other
  30.   outlined expectancies for both user and sysops {system operators of
  31.   a bbs} in the CC-ADMIN.TXT and CC-SYSOP.TXT files.

  33.   In addition to the CCPOLICY.TXT file, many conferences will have
  34.   specific "content oriented" guidelines.  These conference specific
  35.   guidelines will be made available to you on a regular basis from
  36.   within that conference itself.  These "conference specific
  37.   guidelines" will be presented automatically each month in their
  38.   respective conferences.

  40.   CalvaryNet is monitored by the Network Administrator as well as
  41.   the sysops of each respective Calvary Chapel BBS.  The Network
  42.   Administrator receives input from the pastors and sysops on
  43.   CalvaryNet, and then after much prayer, directs the results from
  44.   any Administrative talks to conform to CalvaryNet's structure and
  45.   focus and the Spiritual leading of Pastor Ralph Wood. This may
  46.   not always be democratic in nature, but it will always be open to
  47.   how the Holy Spirit leads the Network Administrator and founder
  48.   of CalvaryNet.  God has richly blessed this ministry for Calvary
  49.   Chapel, and prayer regarding network decisions and focus are
  50.   always encouraged.

  52.   If you have difficulty navigating around on the BBS you are in
  53.   contact with, you are generally given a menu of choices which has
  54.   an option to "C"omment to the SYSOP.  That will allow you to
  55.   leave a message directly to the individual that runs that system
  56.   for help/assistance.

  58.   It is a wonderful blessing to have the Body of Christ communicating
  59.   here on CalvaryNet.  This is a place where you can come and share
  60.   the Gospel, fellowship with other believers, and to receive and
  61.   exchange information.  Interaction with the Pastors of Calvary
  62.   Chapel in CC-SUPPORT is also a blessing.

  65. But! Just who is John and Kara Scudder?
  66.  
  67. A little about WHO John and Kara Scudder are...
  68.  
  69. I am John Scudder.. alias John B. Scudder, alias John Brookfield
  70. Scudder.. alias Sysop of The Shepherd's Flock Family Christian BBS
  71. in Oceanside and Administrator of CalvaryNet
  72.  
  73. A little about my wife and I, then a little about my rabbits...
  74.  
  75. I am married to Kara.  I start out with this because we are "one",
  76. and so.. heh heh.. when I talk about myself, I just HAVE to mention
  77. her.. my special wife {and only wife :} of 7.4 years.  We met at
  78. Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, where I dropped my NEW Bible in front of
  79. her.  I explained that I was so excited about the resources in that
  80. particular Bible that I dropped it.. heh heh.  I showed her what I
  81. was talking about, and opened it up (randomly) to the Song of
  82. Solomon.. where the beginning outline presented a sequence of
  83. events that occur when "falling in Love" {WOW!}. I showed her where
  84. it mentioned "Falling in Love/courtship", then "United in
  85. Love/Wedding", "Struggling in Love/Problem", and finally, "Growing
  86. in Love/progress".  We were married 1.5 years later in he parents
  87. Lutheran Church.
  88.  
  89. Kara and I are Registered Nurses, working in ICU and ICCU
  90. (Intensive Care Unit and Intensive Cardiac Care Unit) areas in
  91. Orange County (California) hospitals.  We love our work, and share
  92. with each other daily our evenings events.  We work 12 hour night
  93. shifts, and travel approximately 70 miles each way to and from
  94. work.  We love the drive.. and due to the excellent pricing and
  95. weather in Oceanside California, we would not have it any other
  96. way.  There are "days" we ponder moving closer to work.. GRIN..
  97. but.. all in all.. we are so appreciative of the Blessings the Lord
  98. has bestowed on us that the drive is not appreciable.
  99.  
  100. We originally lived in an appartment in Garden Grove Calif. (where
  101. we initiated The Shepherd's Flock Family Christian BBS Ministry of
  102. Calvary Chapel), and after a few years, moved to our condo in
  103. Irvine Calif.  3 Years later, we again moved a new home in
  104. Oceanside Calif.  The Shepherd's Flock Family BBS was started for
  105. the Calvary Chapel users at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and for any
  106. one else in the community that wanted to "log on".  With each move,
  107. this Calvary Chapel Ministry grew.. expanded, and was blessed of
  108. the Lord.  We have provided Christian files, games, and forum,
  109. where "fellowship in the love of Christ and respect for each other"
  110. was the main focus. This CalvaryNet ministry has been a blessing to
  111. Kara and I, and we are honored that the Lord has allowed us to
  112. serve in this capacity.  CalvaryNet is and will always be FREE. It
  113. is setup so that it is completely free to the public, and supported
  114. solely by the blessings that God bestows on the BBS Sysops.  No
  115. money is ever requested for access to CalvaryNet or general use on
  116. a Calvary Chapel BBS.  Some BBS systems to require a fee for
  117. *additional* services other than CalvaryNet usage, but CalvaryNet
  118. itself is always freely accessed.

  120. John and Kara.. in the Lord..
  121.  
  122. Kara came to know Jesus in her teens' and I have known the Lord all
  123. my life.  I have attended Calvary Chapel for over 16 years (the
  124. first 5 years intermittently).  We Love the Lord and incorporate
  125. Him in our daily lives, with prayer, Bible sharing, and in loving
  126. each other as Christ Loves the Church, and gave Himself for it.  I
  127. have the BEST Wife, but others who love their wives as Christ loves
  128. the Church will argue that they have the best wife {smile}.  We
  129. love meeting brothers and sisters for fellowship and fun whenever
  130. our busy schedule permits.
  131.  
  132. Now.. the Rabbits... heh heh.. we have two.. Thumper. and.. Betsy.
  133. Thumper Bunny is white with a light brown spots in all the cutest
  134. of areas.  Holland Lop.  He is so beautiful.. and his sister..
  135. Betsy Bunny, is Black with white spots in all the cute areas too.
  136. Betsy is a mix of something or another.. and.. we have been told
  137. that they both look like they should be in a Palace... heh heh.
  138. They keep themselves very clean.  Rabits are wonderful pets, and
  139. are very territorial when it comes to "going to the bathroom".
  140. They only urinate one place, and defecate in another.. neat little
  141. droplets of raisin shaped nutrient rich black balls.  If they
  142. starve, they can actually eat their own "dodo" and get just as high
  143. a nutrient intake as they would from their own food.   Sometimes..
  144. ya live and learn eh?

  146.     I don't recommend anyone trying this at home.. :)

  148. Rabbits can stay in a cage, or can be "let loose" if watched. They
  149. like to chew, so watching them is a must.. cords.. etc.. can be
  150. "nice targets". However, ours are well maintained, and we can
  151. "trust" Thumper out for long periods of time without worry. Betsy
  152. is younger, and requires more supervision.  You can leave for a
  153. week or so as long as you have their water bottles filled and have
  154. a couple of food log roles in the cage.. they are very self
  155. maintaining.  A cool environment is a must.  PERFECT PETS!
